The harp is a very old instrument with a wonderful sound, which already beguiled people in biblical times, witness the story of Saul and David. When Renske heard the instrument as a child, she was determined to play thís instrument and nothing else, even though her parents tried to convince her to choose something else. The love for the instrument has persisted and radiates to her pupils too.

Renske teaches pupils of all ages to play the harp. The style of the music used in her lessons is chosen to match the specific student. She teaches the lever harp (Celtic harp) as well as the pedal harp. A lot of attention is paid to musicality, technique and, of course, pleasure in playing. It is important to Renske, that pupils are motivated and enjoy making music, independent of their level.

A number of times per year, Renske organizes a performance evening with her pupils. After all, it is pleasant, inspiring and instructive to perform for others. Also, Renske arranges ensembles, if the pupils like it. In the Picture Gallery you will find some pictures of pupils' concerts.

The lessons last half an hour to a full hour. This depends on the student and his or her wishes.

Renske regularly gave lessons as a substitute in music schools, for example, in Zeist, Scherpenzeel and Woerden. Today she is working as a harp teacher at the Arts Centre in Almere and in 'Music collective' "Het Wilde Westen" in Utrecht.
A limited number of private pupils have lessons in Utrecht.
